John Cowan possesses rich experience in the tax technology and service space, serving in various leadership roles in general management, business development, and strategy and execution. He has a passion for launching, growing, and innovating commercial tax platforms with automation, data, and expert ingenuity. John applies his passion at Ryan, where we are creating a global, customer-centric ecosystem of cloud-hosted tax and compliance applications.
Prior to joining Ryan, John spent 25 years at a leading tax technology provider in various roles. The most memorable were launching a retail-centric suite of tax technology solutions that accounted for omni-channel and back-office transaction tax needs and converging a built-from-the-ground-up service arm that, coupled with the company’s software, yielded the market’s most trusted/chosen solutions and a modern enterprise data management tool geared specifically for tax professionals across direct and indirect taxes.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University.
