Dallas, Texas - Ryan & Company, America's fastest growing major state and local tax consulting firm, announced that the firm has named Fred Vance, CMI, director of property tax services.
In this position, Vance will be responsible for developing and managing Ryan & Company's West Coast property tax practice and helping expand the firm's national property tax practice. Vance will be based at Ryan & Company's Los Angeles office.

Vance brings more than 30 years of experience in property taxation and specializes in property tax services for major retail and large industrial properties, including mining, chemical, refinery, cement manufacturing and energy. Prior to joining Ryan & Company, Vance served as national director - property tax services for Deloitte & Touche LLP. He has also held positions with Coopers & Lybrand, LLP, the Los Angeles County Assessor's Office, Sears Roebuck and Company, and Dayton Hudson Corporation. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Long Beach.
Vance has many professional affiliations, including being a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), and the Society of Auditor-Appraisers (SAA). In addition, he has obtained the CMI designation from the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), where he currently serves as chairman of the IPT basic property tax school at Georgia Tech University. He is also on the editorial advisory board for the CCH publication Property Tax Alert.
In addition, Vance has lectured on property tax issues for various industry organizations and universities, including the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, International Association of Assessing Officers, the Society of Auditor-Appraisers, Tax Executive Institute (TEI), Golden Gate University, and New York University School of Law and Tax.
