Dallas, Texas - Ryan & Company, America’s largest independent state & local tax consulting firm, today announced that it has acquired JohnBernard LLC, the leading state & local tax consulting firm in the Midwest United States. The Boards of Directors of both companies unanimously approved the transaction on Wednesday. The Company headquarters, based in Royal Oak, Michigan, will serve as the Midwest regional headquarters for Ryan & Company.
JohnBernard founders, John Polizzi and Bernie Johnson, join Ryan & Company as Principals, with John Polizzi remaining in charge of JohnBernard service delivery operations. The JohnBernard team of professionals and associates joins the growing national network of Ryan & Company and establishes Ryan & Company as the leading state & local tax consulting firm in the Midwest. In addition to the Royal Oak location, the transaction will add locations in Lansing, Michigan; Columbus, Ohio; and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada for Ryan & Company. After the transaction, Ryan & Company will have approximately 540 professionals and associates in 25 North American locations, serving clients in the United States and Canada.
