With the repeal of Section 5 and Subsections 13(3) and (4) of Nunavut’s Tobacco Tax Regulations, effective April 1, 2016, collectors will not be entitled to deduct any commission on tobacco tax in the province – all tobacco tax collected must be remitted.
Registered tobacco wholesalers in Nunavut can expect to receive new Tobacco Tax Returns from the provincial government starting in April 2016.
