Manitoba Exempts Personal Income Tax Return Preparation

Manitoba recently updated Information Bulletin No. 057, Accounting Services, with information on the exemption for the preparation of personal income tax returns from RST. Estate and tax planning advice, secretarial and other administrative services provided as part of the preparation or filing of a personal income tax return are also RST exempt. However, accounting services, including financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services provided when preparing or filing a personal income tax return are taxable and must be segregated on an invoice.
