New Brunswick Guides for Carbon Retailers and Wholesalers Issued

The province of New Brunswick recently issued guides to address the application of the amendments to the Gasoline and Motive Fuel Tax Act for wholesalers and retailers. The made-in-New Brunswick carbon tax on fossil fuels commenced on April 1, 2020. 

The New Brunswick publications “Gasoline & Motive Fuel and Carbon Emitting Product Wholesaler’s Guide” and “Gasoline, Motive Fuel and Carbon Emitting Product Retailer Guide” outline the various products subject to the Carbon Emitting Product tax, the applicable tax rates, record retention requirements, and reporting requirements for wholesalers and retailers.
