Funding Amount

Eurostars Call 11 is an international funding opportunity that supports international collaborative R&D and innovation projects. It is designed for innovative SMEs in the leading role, working with other project partners to develop new products, processes, or services that can be easily commercialised.

• Total funding amount for UK applicants: £2.5 million

• Maximum award amount per project: £360,000

Funding is managed by each country’s National Funding Body, and the rules vary by country.

Eligible Applicants

Eurostars supports innovative SMEs and project partners in international collaborative R&D and innovation projects.

Eligible applicant types include:

• Innovative SMEs

• Large companies

• Universities

• Research organisations

• Other types of organisations

The project consortium must meet these core eligibility conditions:

• The consortium must be led by an innovative SME from a Eurostars country

• The consortium must include at least two independent entities

• Those entities must come from at least two Eurostars countries

• At least one organisation must come from an EU or Horizon Europe Associated Country

• The budget of the SMEs from a Eurostars country, excluding subcontracting, must be 50% or more of the total project cost

• No single participant or country may be responsible for more than 70% of the project budget

Eligible Activities

The grant is designed to support international collaborative R&D and innovation projects in all fields. Projects should:

• Involve international collaboration

• Focus on research and development and innovation

• Develop products, processes, or services

• Aim for outputs that can be easily commercialised

• The project duration must be 36 months or less
