Jim Trester is a Principal in Ryan’s Dallas office, where he specializes in client relationship management across all Ryan practice services. He partners with organizations across a wide range of industries, with particular emphasis on retail, manufacturing, distribution, and service businesses, to help them navigate complex tax matters and achieve coordinated, enterprise-wide outcomes.
With experience spanning public accounting, government, and consulting leadership roles, Jim brings a broad perspective to client service. His background includes multistate income, franchise, and transaction tax matters, as well as large-case audit experience with a state revenue authority. Jim is an active contributor to the profession and frequently speaks on multistate income tax, transaction tax, nexus issues related to a variety of taxes, and other related issues for industry and professional organizations. He also plays a leadership role within Ryan through service on the Firm’s Board of Managers and key advisory committees.

Certified Public Accountant, Licensed in Texas (Ryan is not a CPA firm.)
