TORONTO (Aug. 22, 2019) – Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced that David Douglas has joined the Firm as Principal and Canadian Practice Leader of Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED). Mr. Douglas has more than 25 years of experience, and 17 years specifically in SR&ED, working closely with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on behalf of corporations to identify incentive opportunities for research and development. A noted expert on SR&ED and government incentive programs, Mr. Douglas is recognized across the industry for delivering clients improved profitability while sharing thought leadership on current and relevant information regarding funding opportunities. He will be based in the Firm’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Mr. Douglas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Mr. Douglas is an active member of the CPA Association of Canada’s joint Canada Revenue Agency committee on SR&ED issues and a frequent speaker and writer on the SR&ED and government incentive programs. He is active in the community as a current member of the Boy Scouts of Canada Finance Committee, and previously served as Treasurer and Vice Chair for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada where he volunteered for more than 16 years.
