Ryan’s Acquisition of the Real Estate Tax Group Adds Expertise and Scale in LouisianaDALLAS (Nov. 17, 2020)  Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced the acquisition of the Real Estate Tax Group (RETG), a market leader in property tax consulting primarily serving clients in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, RETG specializes in property tax consulting and appeals, real estate valuation, and economic development incentives procurement for clients in the hotel, office, retail, and commercial real estate markets.

The strategic acquisition adds a team of highly qualified property tax professionals with more than 60 years of combined experience to Ryan’s industry-leading property tax team, which is the largest property tax practice in North America. The deal also adds significant relationships to Ryan’s client portfolio, who will benefit from Ryan’s strong property tax expertise and comprehensive corporate tax solutions.

Karl Kehoe, co-founder of RETG, will join Ryan as principal in the Property Tax practice. Mr. Kehoe has more than 30 years of experience in property tax consulting. His expertise includes ad valorem tax appeal and consulting, in addition to state and local tax incentive program procurement.

RETG co-founder John Stockmeyer will join Ryan as director in the Property Tax practice. Mr. Stockmeyer has vast experience in managing real estate assessment reviews and appeals and minimizing taxes for clients over his nearly 34-year career.
