DALLAS (Jan. 21, 2020) – Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced it has promoted eight individuals to the leadership role of Principal: Michael Abbatemarco, Property Tax Commercial; Landon Julius, Sales and Use Tax; John Minogue, Property Tax Commercial; Teresa Sharp, Property Tax Commercial; Vance Shull, Property Tax Commercial; Jamie Sieffert, Property Tax Commercial; Samuel Tae, International Income Tax; and Trey Weaver, Property Tax Commercial.

Michael Abbatemarco specializes in commercial real estate property tax consulting, ensuring that the real estate assessments are fair and equitable for clients, and advising on the property tax implications of new acquisitions. Based in Ryan’s Chicago office, Mr. Abbatemarco oversees the property tax appeal process for Cook County, Illinois and several Midwest states, including compiling market research, constructing valuation analyses and directing capitalization models, filing appeals, and negotiating settlements with local assessing officials.
Landon Julius, based in Ryan’s Kansas City office, specializes in providing multijurisdictional transaction tax advisory services, including audit defense, refund reviews, general representation, and education. Mr. Julius represents clients in numerous industries, inclusive of manufacturing, mining, retail, restaurant, airline, and professional services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in finance from Iowa State University.
John Minogue leads the Commercial Real Estate Business Development team in the Chicago office and is responsible for more than $20 million of sales annually. Mr. Minogue specializes in the valuation, assessment, taxation, and exemption of real and personal property on a state and local level for clients in a variety of industries, including commercial and industrial property, financial institutions, hospitals, public utilities, and not-for-profit charitable and civic organizations.
Teresa Sharp, based in Ryan’s Houston office, is seasoned in multistate jurisdictional personal property compliance, analysis of real and personal property values, equity of assessment review, informal and formal negotiations, audit defense, property tax accrual and budgeting management, and other comprehensive tax services. She has also appeared as a frequent speaker for the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. Ms. Sharp received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Colorado Mesa University.
Vance Shull specializes in commercial real estate tax consulting, providing representation to owners in ad valorem tax appeals of retail properties, shopping centers, malls, office buildings, apartments, and entertainment venues in Ryan’s Dallas office. He is affiliated with the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals. Mr. Shull earned a Master of Business Administration degree in marketing from The University of Texas at Austin.
Jamie Sieffert, based in Ryan’s Dallas office, specializes in providing commercial real estate property taxation services, including valuation and reporting for both real and personal property assets, with a focus on multifamily assets in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Mr. Sieffert also handles appeals throughout the South-Central United States. He holds a Master of Land Economics Real Estate degree from Texas A&M University and is a licensed Senior Property Tax Consultant in Texas.
Samuel Tae, based in Ryan’s Atlanta office, specializes in global tax minimization and recovery and advises multinational clients on complex cross-border transactions. Mr. Tae is also a frequent speaker at national conferences and contributes to local tax journals. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Emory University School of Law.
Trey Weaver, based in the San Antonio office, is seasoned in commercial property tax services focusing primarily on office and retail properties in Central and South Texas, while managing appeal work on a national basis for large real estate portfolios. Mr. Weaver joined the Firm in 2018 and holds a Master of Land Economics and Real Estate degree from Texas A&M University. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and construction management from John Brown University.
