Following the British Columbia government’s announcement of its 2008 Budget on February 19, 2008, the province released a number of notices and updated many of its publications and forms to reflect the changes contained in the budget. CRA Excise Duty Notice EDN19, “Additional Information Concerning the Transitional Measures Regarding Compositional Standards for Spirits”
The Canada Revenue Agency has recently released this notice to advise taxpayers that the provisions set out in Excise Duty Notice EDN4 will remain in effect until July 1, 2009 and not June 30, 2007 as stated in that notice. Excise Duty Notice EDN4 outlined transitional measures that extended the application of the previous regulatory provisions dealing with the compositional standards for spirituous products.
