Manitoba Information Notice, “Tax on Electricity, Natural Gas, and Coal - Notice to Dealers and Purchasers”

Manitoba has issued this notice to explain that effective February 1,2008, when the tax return due date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the due date is the next business day. In addition, this notice indicates that effective April 1, 2008 the 7% tax onelectricity, natural gas, and coal the 7% tax will be applied under The Retail Sales Tax Act rather than under Part I.1 of The Tax Administration and Miscellaneous Taxes Act.
