Prince Edward Island has issued this notice to inform taxpayers that,effective May 22, 2008, propane has been excluded from the definition of gasoline and, consequently, is no longer subject to tax under the Gasoline Tax Act. This change effectively extends the existing exemption for propane not used in the operation of an internal combustion engine to cover all propane purchases.
