The province has announced that, effective May 28, 2008, fire trucks purchased by the Regina and Saskatoon Airport Authorities are exempt from provincial sales tax. This change is intended to put the two airport authorities on the same footing as municipal airports in the province, which have been entitled to a municipal exemption on the purchase of fire trucks since 1998.
