As part of the economic plan announced on October 22, 2008 by the British Columbia government, the province will double the commission it pays to businesses for collecting social service tax and hotel room tax. This increase in commission will provide over 100,000 businesses in B.C. with approximately $60 million over a three year period, equating to $1,200 to a business’s income.
