New Brunswick’s Tire Stewardship Program has increased the environmental fee from $3.00 to $4.50 on most passenger vehicle tires, effective March 1, 2008. The environmental fee applies to all new tires sold in New Brunswick and is used to partially subsidize the cost of collecting scrap tires within the province, and to ensure that used tires are properly recycled.
