The Canada Revenue Agency has recently issued this notice to advise exporters of softwood lumber products under the Softwood Lumber Products Export Charge Act, 2006, that a surge charge is payable for the month of June for the region of Alberta. Exporters who have shipped softwood lumber products with an Alberta region of origin during the month of June 2009 are required to complete and file form B279, “Softwood Lumber Products Surge Charge Return”.
