CRA Tax Tip, “Keeping books and records”

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has released this tax tip to remind taxpayers that as a general rule, records and supporting documentation required to determine a taxpayer’s tax obligations and entitlements must be kept for a minimum of six years. Permission must be obtained in writing from the CRA to destroy records prior to the required retention period.
