Nova Scotia has revised this bulletin to reflect the rebate amounts available on the purchase of a motor vehicle or heavy equipment used for fire fighting by a municipality or volunteer fire department, as a result of the increase in the provincial component of HST to 10% from 8%, which was effective July 1, 2010. Rebate applications must be made within 24 months after the payment of tax on a qualifying purchase.
