Manitoba businesses directly impacted by flooding, that are unable to file their provincial tax returns by the required due date, must submit a written request for a waiver of the interest and penalty resulting from the late return. The submission must include their location and the flood related circumstances that prevented them from filing on time.
This notice also reminds taxpayers that to facilitate the filing of provincial returns, businesses have been able to file and pay their Manitoba tax accounts online using electronic pre-authorized payments since September 2007.
Requests should be mailed or emailed to the addresses as indicated in the notice, and marked as a flood related letter of request.
