Prince Edward Island Budget 2014

Tax Development Apr 09, 2014

The Honourable Wesley J. Sheridan, PEI’s Minister of Finance, Energy and Municipal Affairs, presented the province’s 2014 budget on April 8, 2014.  The budget focuses on obtaining a balanced budget through a measured three-year plan, which began last year, while investing in programs and services that are important to Islanders.  Many of the budget’s initiatives appear to be geared toward strengthening health care for residents in the province.

The deficit is projected to fall to $39.7 million by the end of 2014-2015, with a small projected surplus at the end of 2015-2016.

The budget did not include any commodity tax changes.
