British Columbia Revises Bulletin on Diplomatic and Consular Corps Exemption

British Columbia Bulletin CTB 007, “Exemption for Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps” outlines the various exemptions available to members of the diplomatic and consular corps in British Columbia, including carbon tax, motor fuel tax, municipal and regional district tax, provincial sales tax, and tobacco tax. 

When applying for a refund, the applicant must provide information such as the individual’s name, address, identity card number, expiry date, and diplomatic status.  The bulletin has been updated to include details on the process if multiple debit or credit cards were used for purchases included in the application, as it may be necessary for the Ministry to contact the applicant for proof of cardholder status.
