British Columbia Issues New Form to Close PST Accounts

British Columbia has issued a new form, FIN 357, “Request to Close Provincial Sales Tax Account”, to provide registrants with a mechanism to close their Provincial Sales Tax (“PST”) account. A reason for closing the account must be provided by choosing one of the options on the form, such as the sale of a business, moving out of the province, or registration is no longer required. 

The request must be filed with the Ministry of Finance, and sent by mail, email, or fax. It is recommended that a copy of the complete form be kept on record.
