British Columbia Issues Updated Bulletin on Accommodation

British Columbia Bulletin PST 120, “Accommodation”, has been revised to:

• Update the Municipal and Regional District Tax (MRDT) “Rate Increase” section to add examples and clarify the application of MRDT to a customer’s stay which straddles the date when an MRDT rate is discontinued and to situations in which a prepayment occurs; and
• Advise taxpayers that the City of Surrey will cease participation in the MRDT, effective March 1, 2017.
