British Columbia Updates Bulletin on Safety Equipment and Protective Clothing

British Columbia has updated Bulletin PST 100, “Safety Equipment and Protective Clothing”, to include an exemption for avalanche airbag backpack systems.  These backpack systems help the wearer remain above the snow surface during an avalanche and are specifically constructed to inflate instantly in the event of an avalanche.  As announced in the British Columbia 2018 budget, the exemption on these systems became effective April 1, 2018.
