Yukon Announces Exemptions from Federal Carbon Pricing for Aviation Fuel and Placer Miners

The Government of Yukon issued a press release announcing that they have negotiated a provision exempting aviation fuel used in all flights within Yukon, or between Yukon and other locations from the federal carbon levy, which is expected to be in place on January 1, 2019.  In addition, the government has announced that it will rebate Yukon placer miners for all levies paid under the federal carbon pricing mechanism.
