Canada Revenue Agency Issues Excise Duty Notice Regarding Cannabis Licence Applications

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) released the Excise Duty Notice, EDN56 “New Cannabis Licence Applications – Supplemental Information,” which provides additional guidelines on obtaining a cannabis licence.

All new CRA cannabis licence applicants are now required to include the “Confirmation of Readiness” notice received from Health Canada in their application. The CRA will not accept any cannabis licence applications that do not include, at a minimum, a “Confirmation of Readiness” email.
