Manitoba Extends Deadline for International Fuel Tax Agreement Tax Returns

Manitoba has announced in Information Notice Fuel 20-04, “International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) – Extension of IFTA 1^st Quarter 2020 Tax Return Due Date”, that it is extending the deadline for filing IFTA returns for the first quarter of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

IFTA returns that would ordinarily have been due April 30, 2020 will now become due on July 31, 2020. However, where organizations have outstanding debts prior to the April deadline, interest will continue to accrue on those amounts.
