Tax Alert | Québec Property Tax Deadline Approaching

Tax Development Apr 16, 2021

As with each new triennial property tax assessment roll in Québec, property owners can challenge their assessment by filing for an administrative review. The deadline to file for an administrative review of a property tax assessment for the 2021–2023 triennial roll is April 30, 2021.

After the deadline, the municipal assessment will become fixed for the entire duration of the roll. Subject to certain exceptions, property tax assessments cannot be adjusted after the deadline has passed.

The major municipalities included in Québec’s 2021 triennial roll are:

  • Gatineau
  • Drummondville
  • Gaspé
  • Cowansville
  • Lavaltrie
  • Rosemère
  • Sainte-Marie
  • Sainte-Adèle
  • Val-des-Monts
  • Rawdon
  • La Tuque
  • Saint-Raymond
  • Saint-Hippolyte
  • L'Épiphanie
  • Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval

Organizations with property located in any of the above municipalities should consider a request for review of their property tax assessment before the end of April.
