Ryan Announces New Principals

DALLAS (April 17, 2025) - Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, is pleased to announce 16 new principals who have shown strong leadership, a keen focus on client service, and deep expertise during their tenure with the Firm. Below, each principal is listed by practice area.

Abandoned and Unclaimed Property

  • Julia Killinger-Colbus
    • Based in Hunt Valley, Maryland, Julia has 20 years of experience in unclaimed property initial and annual compliance as well as consulting services. Julia has particular expertise in ensuring companies successfully complete state voluntary disclosure programs, while mitigating risk and minimizing liability. Previously at Altus Group, she served as the liaison between Altus’s clients and state administrators since the initiation of unclaimed property reporting services and currently manages the U.S. and Canadian compliance functions for more than 100 companies in North America. Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Towson University.

Complex Property Tax

  • Jason Butterworth
    • Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jason brings 30 years of property tax experience in a variety of roles and responsibilities. His expertise spans real and personal property with a focus on complex properties. He has represented, overseen, and developed strategies for clients across the country. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Florida State University.

Personal Property Tax

  • Matthew Ball
    • Located in Hunt Valley, Maryland, Matthew has been specializing in personal property tax compliance and consulting for more than 20 years. He provides tax solutions across a variety of industries, including banking, distribution, manufacturing, retail, and leasing. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business finance from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
  • Patrick Broome
    • Based in Hunt Valley, Maryland, Pat has 30 years of real and personal property tax consulting and compliance experience, specializing in retail, healthcare, and specialty use properties. Pat most recently served as the leader of Altus Group’s personal property tax practice. He holds a CMI designation from the Institute for Professionals in Taxation and has a Master of Science degree in real estate from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University.
  • David Gangloff
    • Located in Irvine, California, Dave has more than 40 years of experience in property tax, specializing in complex properties with a focus on data centers. He has extensive expertise in navigating the unique valuation and compliance challenges associated with these assets. Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from California State University, Long Beach and a Juris Doctor degree from Pacific Coast University. He is also a member of the California Bar.
  • Ronald Gangloff
    • With 40 years of experience, Ron specializes in complex property tax advisory and appeal services, particularly within California’s regulatory environment. He has expertise in various property types, including heavy industrial, oil and gas, retail, and technology. Ron has served on the boards of Cal Tax and California Alliance of Taxpayer Advocates, further establishing his leadership in the industry. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Pacific Coast University School of Law and has completed machinery and equipment (M&E) appraisal coursework.
  • Corinne Krikstan
    • Based in Hunt Valley, Maryland, Corinne has 29 years of experience in various leadership roles in state and local tax, most recently serving as the U.S. tax practice leader for Altus Group’s Global Tax Executive Leadership team. She began her career in personal property tax, rising to partner at SC&H State & Local Tax Services. She continued leading the combined personal property tax teams of SC&H and Altus Group when acquired in December 2014. In 2018, Corinne was appointed to lead U.S. Tax Operations and Technology prior to assuming the U.S. leadership role in 2022. Corinne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree from Stevenson University, a Certificate in State and Local Tax from Lubar College of Business, and the CMI Property Tax designation from the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
  • Brandon Lancer
    • Based in Hunt Valley, Maryland, Brandon has more than 15 years of experience in personal property tax consulting and compliance services. He specializes in providing tailored property tax solutions across a wide range of industries. Brandon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from West Virginia University and is a certified public accountant.
  • Mark Miller
    • Based in Keller, Texas, Mark has 18 years of tax experience, including 16 years specializing in business personal property tax. He provides valuation and consulting services across all industries, with a particular focus on retail, distribution, and manufacturing. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University and is a licensed certified public accountant in Maryland and Texas. He has also earned the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation from the American Society of Appraisers.

Real Property Tax

  • Edwin Archbold
    • Based in Keller, Texas, Edwin has been managing and engaging in real property tax consulting for national clients for more than 19 years. His focus and areas of specialization include healthcare, income-producing industrial/warehouse properties, senior living facilities, multifamily housing, office spaces, and data centers. He has been serving clients across the country with vast experience throughout California, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
  • Nick Carter
    • Based in Keller, Texas, Nick’s focus is on complex commercial real estate appeals, where he leads a team of real estate experts providing valuation resources and support intended to improve real estate appeal performance nationwide. Nick has 19 years of experience in commercial real estate consulting, including appraisal engagements and ad valorem tax consulting. Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and holds an MAI designation with the Appraisal Institute.
  • Jeremy Chitlik
    • Based in Tysons, Virginia, Jeremy has more than 22 years of experience managing and overseeing real property tax appeals, focusing on national and international clients. Specializing in the DC Metro market and utilizing his experience gained from running the commercial assessment division for the DC Assessor’s Office, Jeremy works closely with clients in the office, retail, industrial, and multifamily sectors. He most recently led the sales function for North America Tax while at Altus Group. Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University and a master’s degree in real estate valuation from Johns Hopkins University.
  • Kirk Garza
    • Based in Austin, Texas, Kirk brings more than 18 years of experience in property tax consulting, specializing in strategic solutions for commercial real estate. Serving as a director at Ryan, Kirk leveraged his expertise in tax strategy, valuation, and market expansion to drive impactful results for his clients across a multitude of industries. He holds an MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and has earned the CCIM designation through the CCIM Institute and the CMI designation from the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. Kirk earned his Master of Real Estate degree and Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Texas A&M University.
  • Sean Keegan
    • Based in Irvine, California, Sean has represented clients in both personal and real property in California for 37 years. Sean oversees the California Real Property Valuation Appeals in Northern and Southern California for industrial, multifamily, office, retail, and complex properties. His California expertise includes exemptions, new construction, leasehold improvements/fixtures, ownership determinations, and possessory interests (marina, airport, and other). He also has real property experience in other states such as Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington. Sean served as an officer and board member of the California Alliance of Taxpayer Advocates. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance from California State University, Long Beach and a Juris Doctor degree from Pacific Coast University School of Law.
  • Kristi Lazo
    • Based in Keller, Texas, Kristi has more than 25 years of experience in real property tax consulting. She specializes in commercial properties with a focus on office, industrial, and retail. Kristi has extensive multistate experience and represents national clients with large commercial portfolios. Kristi has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in real estate from Baylor University and holds the CCIM designation from the CCIM Institute.
  • Alex Powell
    • Based in Keller, Texas, Alex has more than 25 years of experience in property tax consulting and compliance. Specializing in property tax assessments, appeals, and portfolio management, he has worked with clients across industries such as retail, manufacturing, and multifamily housing. Prior to joining Ryan, Alex held senior roles at Altus Group and McCollum Consulting, providing strategic tax solutions and managing client relationships. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas.
