The Alberta Treasury Board and Ministry of Finance has released a "Carbon Levy Administration FAQs" document regarding the Carbon Levy which will take effect on January 1, 2017. The Alberta Carbon Levy will apply to purchases of all fossil fuels that produce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions when combusted. This includes fuels used for transportation purposes and fuels used for heating, such as natural gas and propane.
