The province of Saskatchewan has issued new Information notice, IN 2016-02, “Recordkeeping Requirements for IFTA/IRP” to provide guidance to interjurisdictional carriers concerning recordkeeping requirements for the International Fuel Tax Agreement (“IFTA”) and International Registration Plan (“IRP”) programs.
Carriers are warned that failing to maintain acceptable records will trigger one or more of six actions by the province, up to and including an assessment of 100% of apportion fees and a revocation of IFTA and IRP licenses.
