Alberta Municipal Affairs has issued annual requests for information (RFIs) for the 2025 tax year. Property owners should expect to receive both a linear property RFI (e.g., cable, electric power, pipeline, gas distribution, etc.) and a designated industrial property request (e.g., buildings, structures, and machinery and equipment).
In Alberta, annual assessment values are based on a condition date of October 31. To be reflected in an assessment, any abandonments, discontinuations, isolations, removals, or additions must be completed by that date.
Information must be reported to the corresponding assessor for all designated industrial properties and linear properties within 60 days of the date the RFI was issued. If no response is submitted, owners will lose the right to appeal the assessment for the respective tax year.
