Cook County, Illinois to Issue 2021 Second-Installment Property Tax Bills

After a long delay, the 2021 assessment appeal process of the Cook County Board of Review has concluded and the second-installment 2021 tax bills are ready to be issued. The Cook County Treasurer’s Office posted the bill information on their website and will mail it by December 1. The deadline for payment is December 30.

The 2021 equalized tax rate (state equalizer multiplied by the tax rate) for property in the City of Chicago, which was reassessed during 2021, decreased approximately 9.7% from 2020. This will offset the large assessment increases applied to non-residential properties during 2021.

We strongly encourage you to log in to review your tax bill as soon as possible. The experts at Ryan are available to answer questions.
