Dallas, Texas – Ryan, a leading global tax services firm, announced that four senior executives have been recognized by International Tax Review as Women in Tax Leaders. The inaugural edition of the Women in Tax Leaders guide highlights women making remarkable strides in a field traditionally viewed as male-dominated. The four Ryan executives honored—Ginny Kissling, Helen Lemmon, Suzanne den Breems, and Amelia O’Rourke—represent Ryan operations across three continents.
According to research from Tax Talent, a career and leadership development portal for tax professionals, the percentage of women in public accounting firms diminishes by 60% at partner level. Given these statistics, the International Tax Review was motivated to launch the Women in Tax Leaders guide to feature the efforts of extraordinary women who have worked their way to the top of the tax industry. The Ryan executives selected to this list include:
- Ginny Kissling, President, U.S. Operations and Principal in Ryan’s Dallas, Texas office, who leads 1,500 employees across the United States, as well as 230 employees in Hyderabad, India. She is a technical expert specializing in transaction tax services and an industry-recognized expert in the Texas Enterprise Zone program.
- Helen Lemmon, Principal-in-Charge in Ryan’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office, who is responsible for local Ryan operations while providing a suite of U.S. Credits and Incentives services to a premier portfolio of Fortune 500 clients.
- Suzanne den Breems, Principal and Practice Leader for European Operations in Ryan’s Amsterdam, Netherlands office, who also manages the Firm’s European Value-Added Tax practice. She has played an instrumental role in the growth of that practice and the Firm’s rapid expansion across Europe.
- Amelia O’Rourke, a Director in Ryan’s Australian practice based in Sydney, who advises multinational corporations on all aspects of Australian goods and services tax across multiple industries.
“It is an honor that these female members of Ryan’s senior leadership team are being recognized for their dominance in the tax profession, and I congratulate them on their hard work and contributions to Ryan’s global tax services leadership position,” said G. Brint Ryan, Chairman and CEO of Ryan.
The Women in Tax Leaders guide is based on a minimum number of nominations received from peers and clients, along with evidence of outstanding success in the past year. Firms and individuals cannot pay to be recommended in this guide.
