Alabama Property Tax Expertise
Local Alabama Expertise with a National Footprint
Commercial real estate owners in counties across the state of Alabama will receive assessment notices from March to August, and taxpayers in Jefferson and Shelby counties could see increases. There are only 30 days to make an appeal, and you only have one chance each year to appeal your property values. If you miss this window, your ability to appeal the value is lost until the following year. Our local Alabama experts are the most experienced professionals in the market with both industry and property type expertise as well as relationships with the jurisdictions and assessors that translate into maximum tax savings realized for clients across the state.

Other Considerations
Alabama has several property tax exemptions available for businesses. The homestead exemption applies to primary residences and can save homeowners up to $4,000 in property taxes. Businesses located in certain economically distressed areas may also be eligible for the Enterprise Zone Program, which offers a five-year exemption from property taxes. In addition, businesses engaged in research and development activities may qualify for tax credits.
