Washington State Government Preparing to Shut Down on July 1, 2015; Unless the Legislature Passes a Budget, Non-critical Government Functions will Stop
The Washington State Legislature is in its second special session to pass an operating budget. Non-critical government functions will cease on July 1, 2015, unless an operating budget is adopted before that date. The Department of Revenue offices will be closed, and no employees will be working. However, taxes are still required to be paid on time.
