Dallas, Texas -- Ryan & Company today announced the commencement of operations in Chicago, Illinois and the expansion of the Firm's telecommunications transaction tax practice. The Firm has retained Duggan Realty Advisors, L.L.C. of Dallas, Texas to conduct the search for suitable office space in the Downtown Chicago area.
Ryan & Company named Mr. James Kranjc, CPA, Senior Manager specializing in Telecommunications Tax Services, to head the new office. In his new position, Mr. Kranjc will focus on business development, service delivery, and recruiting efforts in the Chicago market, building on Ryan & Company's existing presence and service delivery nationally. Mr. Kranjc will expand Ryan & Company's current telecommunications transaction tax practice. He will also support Ryan & Company's many national accounts that operate in the state. According to G. Brint Ryan, Ryan & Company Managing Principal, "Mr. Kranjc's reputation in the Chicago market is exceptional. He will provide the additional breadth our firm has been looking for in the Midwest market as well as in the telecommunications industry."
Prior to joining Ryan & Company, Mr. Kranjc established his expertise in transaction taxes with over 17 years of experience in industry and government positions. Mr. Kranjc's experience includes 13 years in the tax department of Ameritech Corporation where he served his last seven years as Director, Transaction Taxes. His experience also includes working in the tax departments of The Sherwin Williams Corporation and Midland-Ross Corporation. Prior to working in industry, Mr. Kranjc was employed as a Revenue Auditor with the Illinois Department of Revenue for roughly 3 years.
