Dallas, Texas -- Ryan & Company, America's largest independent state and local tax consulting firm, continues its national expansion with the opening of its newest office in Nashville. Edward Bringhurst, longtime multistate tax industry veteran in the Southeast, has been selected to head the new office.
"Our goal as a company is to strategically select locations throughout the U.S. where we have a large existing client base in addition to a substantial potential to grow that client base and superiorly service it," said G. Brint Ryan, managing principal of the company. "The Southeast and Tennessee, in particular, are great markets for our services, and the new group of professionals we've hired there will further enhance our service delivery for clients in the region, such as Brinker International, Kmart and Kimberly-Clark."
Forbes Magazine named Nashville one of the top 25 cities in the U.S. for projected job growth over the next five years. This, in combination with the presence of powerhouse companies and many of Ryan & Company's existing clients in the Southeast, made Nashville a natural target for the company's expansion.
Ryan & Company's professionals in the Nashville office will provide state and local tax services to multiple tax jurisdictions across the country with a special emphasis on sales and use tax, unclaimed property tax and property tax.
"As a regional office with multistate tax experience, we will be able to expertly service all of our clients' state and local tax needs not only in the Southeast, but also all over the country," said Edward Bringhurst, senior manager in charge of Ryan & Company's Nashville office. Edward Bringhurst is leading Ryan & Company's Nashville office, and subsequently its Southeast recruiting efforts, business development opportunities and client service initiatives. Prior to joining Ryan & Company, Bringhurst served as a Senior Manager for Ernst & Young LLP, leading the firm's transactions tax practice in Nashville. Bringhurst has 21 years of experience in the sales and use tax area. He spent five years with the Tennessee Department of Revenue, eight years in private industry, and eight years as a consultant.
