Dallas, Texas - Ryan & Company today announced that Karin Richmond, Manager, Business Incentives, was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The election took place at IEDC's Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri on September 22, 2004.
IEDC is dedicated to providing leadership and excellence in economic development for communities, members, and partners to build economically strong, sustainable communities. IEDC has established strong programs that analyze and disseminate information, provide educational and professional training opportunities, and improve decision-makers' responsiveness to economic development needs. The organization has over 4,000 members in all levels of academia, government, and private industry.
Ms. Richmond has been a member of the IEDC for three years. During the recent Annual Conference, she chaired the panel titled "Job Retention Incentives: Fad or Trend?" Ms. Richmond will serve a two-year term on the board along with four other newly elected members.
"I am thrilled and deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve in the leadership of this national council and especially look forward to working with Austin officials to bring this conference to Texas, following New York City, in 2008," Richmond said.
Ms. Richmond specializes in securing and administering job and investment credits, tax abatements, and other incentives. Her clients include many Fortune 1000 companies such as CITGO Petroleum Corporation, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and Johnson & Johnson. She has worked as a community leader for over twenty years including serving as Chairman of the Texas State Enterprise Zone Board and Board Director of the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
