Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Honors Ryan Director, Joseph Tomczyk, with the Thomas M. Hoatlin Award

Dallas, Texas -- Ryan, the leading tax services firm in North America, with the largest transaction tax practice in the United States and Canada, today announced that Ryan Director, Joseph J. Tomczyk, has received the Thomas M. Hoatlin Award from the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). 

This award recognizes the MACPA State and Local Tax Task Force member that most significantly contributes to the lasting and mutually beneficial relationship between the MACPA and Michigan Department of Treasury. Mr. Tomczyk is being honored for his contributions and demonstrated professionalism for building and maintaining open and honest lines of communication between the MACPA and Michigan Department of Treasury.

Mr. Tomczyk has more than 40 years of experience in state and local taxation, including substantial experience in indirect taxes, corporate taxes, and unclaimed property. He represents a wide variety of local and national clients in industries such as manufacturing, contracting, retail, general service, energy production, financial services, broadcasting, and Internet access. He has worked with large global companies, reviewing their state tax compliance procedures and developing opportunities for tax efficiency and minimization. Prior to joining the Ryan leadership team, Mr. Tomczyk spent 27 years with the Michigan Department of Revenue.
