Michael Mojabi Joins Ryan as Principal to Lead the Firm’s Human Capital Tax Services Practice

Dallas, Texas – Ryan, a leading global tax services firm with the largest indirect tax practice in North America, today announced that Michael Mojabi has joined the leadership team as Principal to lead the Firm’s Human Capital Tax Services practice. He will be based in the San Francisco, California office.

Prior to joining Ryan, Mr. Mojabi was a practice leader in the global employment tax services group of a national accounting firm. He has more than 24 years of experience leading and advising organizations in the areas of human capital taxation, business risk, financial performance, and operational effectiveness, with an emphasis on employment tax, sales and use tax, and state income tax. He has supported numerous Fortune 500 clients with federal, state, and local employment tax compliance; federal and state information reporting compliance; multistate tax withholding compliance; and global payroll compliance. Additionally, his expertise in domestic and foreign employee versus independent contractor compliance, nonemployee service provider withholding and reporting requirements, human resources process improvement, stock and equity compensation taxation, regulatory issues, tax audit support, enterprise risk management, human resources and payroll systems planning, mergers and acquisitions, organizational restructuring, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance has improved the efficiency and effectiveness of multinational companies across the world.

Mr. Mojabi also has in-depth public sector experience, having served as a Senior Tax Auditor in the California Board of Equalization and Employment Development Department. He is an accomplished public speaker and has achieved broad industry recognition for strategic thought leadership on various human capital taxation matters. Mr. Mojabi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from San Francisco State University and a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden State University.
