Dallas, Texas – Randy Hilger, a Principal with Ryan, has been appointed to the Missouri Study Commission on State Tax Policy (“Commission”). Mr. Hilger will work with legislators, state officials, and other appointed stakeholders to study Missouri’s tax code and make recommendations for improvements.
The Commission was established by 2015 House Bill 384 to perform a comprehensive review of Missouri’s state and local tax structure, including tax sources, the impact of taxes, collection procedures, and administrative regulations, and develop a broad range of improvements to modernize the tax system and maximize economic development and growth. The Commission is composed of legislators on the Joint Committee on Tax Policy, the State Treasurer, the State Budget Director, the Director of the Department of Revenue, and other public and private sector stakeholders. Mr. Hilger was appointed to the Commission by Lieutenant Governor Peter D. Kinder.
Mr. Hilger is a certified public accountant (CPA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) and as Chairperson of the MSCPA’s Tax Committee. In his role at Ryan, he is responsible for providing transaction, franchise, and multistate income tax services. In addition to being a CPA, Mr. Hilger also holds Certified Management Accountant, Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, and Chartered Global Management Accountant designations. Mr. Hilger’s experience includes positions in both the public and private sector. He currently serves as Principal in Charge of Ryan’s St. Louis, Missouri office.
